What is religious really? I hate that term. I believe in God, but I don't really view it as being religious. Believing in God is a way of life that you walk day by day. Anyone can make up a religion now days that is why I don't like to call myself religious.
What do you think about my answer. I don't care if you believe in God or don't. I just want to know if other people agree with me.
I have been thinking a lot about different religion and dominations of Christian churches. For me, I have never understood the difference between one church and another. I thought since we all believed in God that it was all the same. A lot of people don't think that and I don't understand it. I don't think the same things matter. As long as you believe in the same God and that Jesus died and rose from the dead to save us from our sins, then I respect you and your beliefs. I am sick of people sticking their noses up in the air at person for certain things. As Christians, we should be able to look past that and have love for each other.
I want everyone's opinion on this even if you disagree with me. I also would like everyone to tell if they are Christian. If you are a Christian, tell me what type of church you go to and what makes it different from other dominations.
I am thinking about writing a paper for my English class about some of this.
Please respond to this!!!!!!

Hello Kimberley,
VivianI agree wholeheartedly! Christianity is not a religion (in fact Jesus regularly rebuked the Pharisees for all their religious customs that were made by man rather than God). Christianity for me is more of a relationship with God, an ongoing walk in faith that has nothing to do with ritual or ceremony that we associate with religion.
I also think that while there are many denominations, minor doctrinal differences should not stand in the way. We are all part of the body of Christ.
It says in Proverbs 6: 16-19 about the seven things that God hates and number seven is "One who sows discord among the brethren". When Christians disparage other denominations because of minor doctrinal differences I think that they are sowing discord and am very wary of that. In fact God once rebuked me for the same thing when I used to have a prejudice against Catholics. He has since helped me overcome that and I now try to approach all as though they are brethren. I figure it's not up to me to say if the way they worship God is acceptable to Him. That's between them and Him and non of my business.
God Bless you Kimberley
